Crop Picture help center
Need a quick reminder on how to crop, export, or troubleshoot? This guide walks through the most common Crop Picture workflows so your images stay on-brand without leaving the browser. Follow the steps below or jump straight to the section you need.
Upload a picture and start cropping
1. Drop a JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, or BMP (≤ 50 MB) anywhere inside the upload panel or click the area to choose a file.
2. Prefer keyboard? Press Cmd/Ctrl + V to paste directly from your clipboard.
3. The crop frame appears instantly—drag inside to reposition or use any edge handle to resize.
Tip: Hold the crop near the edges to reveal alignment guides and safe areas.
Lock aspect ratios & customise framing
- Select a preset (1:1, 3:2, 4:3, 16:9, 9:16) to snap the crop instantly.
- Enter custom width and height values when you need a specific ratio.
- Use the zoom slider (50%–200%) to inspect edges without changing the output size.
Reminder: Crop Picture never resizes your original file until you export; zooming only changes what you see.
Preview and export safely
1. Check the live preview canvas—dimensions and ratio update in real time.
2. Name your file, then pick a format: PNG (lossless), JPEG, or WebP. JPEG/WebP expose a quality slider.
3. Click Download; the processed blob is generated locally and saved to your device.
Security: No images leave the browser. Closing the tab clears the session automatically.
Fix common issues quickly
Preview is blank: Make sure the file is not corrupted or progressive JPEG with zero frames; re-export and retry.
Pasted image rejected: Some browsers require permission for clipboard reads. Confirm the prompt and paste again.
Download button disabled: The tool enables export only after a file loads. Re-run the upload step.
Slow rendering on huge files: Use Chrome or Edge latest version and close other heavy tabs to free memory.
Data privacy & local processing
Crop Picture never uploads your assets or stores logs. Each crop runs in-memory using the Canvas API. Clearing your browser history or refreshing the page removes every trace of the session. Review the Privacy Policy for the complete statement.
